Alaska Range

This photograph was taken from the overlook in Talkeetna, Alaska. As you can tell, it was a clear day and I could see Denali (Mt. McKinley) very clearly. This is not the case for most people that travel to Alaska as the mountain is shrouded in clouds 70% of the year.

I was driving along the Alaska Highway in the Yukon and noticed this reflection in Lake Kluane. I slammed on my brakes and pulled over to capture this image of Sheep Mountain.

Taxco, Mexico

This is Taxco in Mexico. This city was developed in the 18th century to be a silver mining town. It is now full of artisans that create jewelry and other valuables primarily from sliver.

Street of the Dead, Mexico

This archeological site is impressive for its scale, both in the size of the Pyramid of the Sun (the third largest pyramid in the world) and the majesty of the Calle de los Muertos (Street of the Dead) - originally 4km long and flanked by temples, palaces and platforms.

Mountain Stream

This was a swift running stream my wife and I encountered on a hike to Multnomah Falls in the Columbia River Gorge, Oregon. The low light and slow shutter speed causes the water to take on a ethereal look.

I love the colors in this image I captured at the Gold Panner RV Park in Chicken, Alaska.  When the bosoms get to the bottom of the stalk, summer is over.
