Welcome to the RVDatabase Help File. The information here will assist you in using the RVDatabase application on your phone or tablet.
Capabilities:
All of this with a very simple and intuitive interface.
The main screen of the application lists all of the RVs that you want to monitor. You can input many RV types including motor home, travel trailer and 5th wheel. You can also monitor tow vehicles such as trucks and vehicles that you tow behind your motor home. Why would you want to enter tow(ed) vehicles? The tow(ed) vehicles are used by "weight analyis" to make sure you do not exceed your manufacturer's recommendations.
On the main screen, just tap one of the RVs to see the detailed information about the RV. You will be presented with a tabbed interface showing the following tabs: General, Lengths Capacities, Tire Specs, Weights, Weight Analysis, Electrical Specs, Appliances and Systems, Maintenance, Repairs and Notes. You can navigate to any of these tabs by touching the tab at the top of the screen or by swiping the screen (left or right). To get back to the main screen, just hit the back-button.
Many of the detail screens are unable to display all of the data on one of your phone's screen; there is not enough space. So, you will need to scroll down (or up) to see all of the data.
The RVDatabase application requests one permission:
Storage - Local storage is used to store your database and the backup of the database.

Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) - The GVWR is the maximum permissible weight of the fully loaded vehicle, including liquids, passengers and cargo. The GVWR is equal to or greater than the sum of the unloaded vehicle weight (UVW) plus the net carrying capacity (NCC). This weight rating is specified by the manufacturer.
Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) Front - The GAWR is the maximum allowable weight each axle assembly is designed to carry, as measured at the tires, including the weight of the assembly itself. GAWR is established by considering the rating of each of its components (tires, wheels, springs and axle) and rating the axle on its weakest link. The GAWR assumes that the load is equal on each side of the vehicle. This weight rating is specified by the manufacturer.
Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) Rear - See GAWR Front.
Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR) - The GCWR is the value specified by the manufacturer as the maximum allowable combined weight of the vehicle and the attached towed vehicle.
Unloaded Vehicle Weight (UVW) - The UVW is the weight of the vehicle as built at the factory with full fuel, engine oil and coolants. The UVW does NOT include cargo, fresh water, LP gas, occupants or dealer-installed accessories.
Cargo Carrying Capacity (CCC) - The CCC is the GVWR minus each of the following: UVW, full fresh (potable) water weight (including water heater), full LP-gas weight, and SCWR. SCWR (sleeping capacity weight rating) The manufacturer’s designated number of sleeping positions multiplied by 154 pounds (70 kilograms).
Maximum Trailer Weight - The maximum weight of the a towed RV or vehicle
Measured (Loaded) Pin/Tongue Weight - The actual (measured), loaded pin or tongue weight. This weight should be obtained on a certified scale with the RV fully loaded (water, propane, camping supplies, etc.)
Measured (Loaded) Front Axle Weight - The actual (measured), loaded weight on the front wheels. This weight should be obtained on a certified scale with the RV fully loaded (water, propane, camping supplies, etc.)
Measured (Loaded) Rear Axle Weight - The actual (measured), loaded weight on the rear wheels. This weight should be obtained on a certified scale with the RV fully loaded (water, propane, camping supplies, etc.)
This screen allows you to view information about the manufacturer specified and actual weights of your RV or vehicle and determine if the weights are within specifications. A warning message is displayed if a weight is above specification.

The Backup/Restore feature is used to create a backup copy of your database so that you can restore the database at a later time. Many people spend a lot of time entering information into the database. It is a good practice to always backup your database and keep the backup in a safe location (like cloud storage). If anything happened to your phone or tablet, you could then retrieve the backup copy (from cloud storage) and restore your database.
Use Preferences to specify where you want your backup created (local, Dropbox, Box, Drive or OneDrive).
